Our Story

Eva Wellness is a maternal mental health service and a supportive community for people at any point in their parenting journey.

Eva Wellness was founded by Sarah Goodman, MSW, RSW and Mira (Blumenthal) Lax, two new moms who are passionate about maternal mental health and parental wellbeing. As new mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mira and Sarah discovered the need for an online and offline community where parents can come together, share their experiences, and get the help they need.

The name "Eva" was inspired by Eve—the mother of all mothers, the mother of all life. Eva also stems from the Hebrew words for breath and life. Our goal is to support mothers—the givers of life—to give back to themselves; to care for themselves so they can care for their families.

Why Eva Wellness?

The stress surrounding the journey to motherhood is often not spoken about and can feel overwhelming and lonely. At the best of times, we rely on our personal support systems—friends and family—to help us stay afloat, and even then negative thoughts can creep in: hopelessness, sadness, and self-doubt cloud your vision.

Eva Wellness was created with you in mind. We know it’s difficult to find time in the day for yourself. We know it's hard to leave the house. We know facing your negative thoughts is challenging. We are here to help.

We offer virtual appointments and a non-judgmental space to have real conversations about your experiences and emotions. We are here to help you navigate the tough stuff and find yourself and your happiness again.
